"Much had been done to make the ..."

About: Brighton General Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Much had been done to make the Dermatological Department bright and welcoming. Previous visits have been well managed and Clinical Staff have taken time to explain procedures.

What could be improved

Today (4th March I had an appointment for 09.00 By 10.10 many patients had been seen but I remained, without any explaination, in the 'holding area'. Finally, when I enquired from one of the ? care assistants whether I had been forgotten she replied that my notes were missing. I was finally seen at 10.20 and, I am pleased to say, once again received excellent service from my clinician.

I appreciate that notes can go astray but I feel that there should have been some communication during my wait - a simple explanation would have sufficed.

I was not feeling anxious, althought I might have been, but I was feeling frustrated.

Perhaps those responsible for calling for patients could be asked to keep them informed should there be problems.

I should like to emphasise that I am delighted with, and appreciative of, my medical care.
