"Excellent standards of care"

About: Royal Preston Hospital

Anything else?

My 91 year old grandad was admitted to the Royal Preston Hospital A&E last August after collapsing at home and suffering from a serious c.diff type bowel infection. At the time my mum and I were told to expect the worst and that it was unlikely he would survive the night. However against all the odds and four weeks later he made a miraculous recovery. I have nothing but thanks and admiration for the nurses and health care assistants who helped my grandad get better. I admit he was a demanding and sometimes rude patient to deal with but the staff had tons of patience with him!

10 months later and grandad still lives in his own home, and is is excellent health despite his age. He is due to visit the Royal Preston again later this month for a routine ultrasound scan on his kidneys.

Thanks to all staff on A&E and Ward 10.

Nikki

Thanks for your comments. Hearing about positive experiences really motivates our staff, and helps us identify where we’re getting things right so we can share good practice across all of our services. We will pass on your comments to the Emergency Department and Ward 10 staff. It's great to hear your grandad is now in better health, best wishes.
