Anything else?
I have taken several weeks to write this as I wanted to weigh up my words carefully.
With this is mind I was utterly appalled by my treatment by the nursing staff at Whittington A&E 6 weeks ago.
I was taken to the A&E department at 3am due to very acute pain in my lower back and leg. The pain relief I had been prescribed wasn't working and I could hardly walk. The pain was so severe that I was in a distressed state.
Despite the department appearing very quiet, at the nurses/ medics station I was blatantly and very pointedly ignored for sometime whilst being held up by my partner. Given I was in severe pain there was no reaction or response to help me as I needed to lie down.
After 10 minutes the nurses/medics on duty deigned to look over and bring their general gossiping to an end. I was assigned a room to lie down.
Later that morning an MRI scan established a massive disc protrusion.
I cannot fault the day staff who took over at around 9am. However the nursing staff on night duty were shocking in their demeanour and attitude. They really didn't care.
