What I liked

I had my baby at Medway Maritime. The standard of care I received antenatally, in labour and postnatally was fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and I was made to feel really special, as if I was the only person ever to have had a baby.

The midwives were friendly and supportive without being intrusive and always available even if very busy.

I would thoroughly recommend Medway as a place to have a baby. I have friends who have delivered there who agree and would go back again.

The standard of cleanliness was high and the bathrooms have notices in them to tell a member of staff if you are not happy with the level of cleanliness. A woman who used the bathroom before me left it in a mess-I reported this and it was immediately cleaned.

The ward sister and matron came round daily to see if we were happy with our care and if we had any issues we wanted to discuss.

What could be improved

I would love to see a midwifery led unit at Medway to give women more choice of where to deliver.
