At 7 weeks pregnant I was sent to the early pregnancy unit at the RGH after having a scan done the antenatal clinic, I was told by the diabetic nurses and doctors that I was doing everything wrong and I was not trying hard enough to keep my bloods down (which I will say that I was doing best as I am uncontrolled diabetic). the scan woman scanned me in antenatal that the baby was not growing as fast as they want it to and that the hormone levels where not high enough for the weeks I was too, they booked me appointment with the early pregnancy unit in a weeks time within that week I started having light spotting but no cramping.
On thursday that week I went to the early pregnancy unit and was told to wait in the waiting room I was there for 20 minutes and then had a scan done and the scan woman said that there was a sac and looks like yolk in the sac and that I was about 4 weeks gone and the scan woman said it looks all OK. I was sent back to the waiting room to wait to see the doctor which felt like eternity I seen the doctor about 2 hours later and they said it may lead to a miscarriage as the hormone levels were not going up high enough. I was sent home that day and was told to come back in a weeks time to have bloods done and then another week to have a scan again, by the second is was having cramping pains and clotting in the morning I had the miscarriage that day, my mum telephone the gwent and they told me to keep to the next appointment to have bloods done.
I went back to the early pregnancy unit and they did my bloods and they told me that I would have to have another scan done to make sure that there was nothing in there that could harm me in any other way, I told the doctors that I have done a pregnancy test and that I came back negative and that the bleeding had stopped now but the doctors were saying that the hormone levels could still be a little high.
The doctor informed me that I should ring Tuesday morning to find out the blood results I rang that Tuesday morning and the doctor did not know that I have not had the miscarriage and they did not put into my notes and they did not inform my GP'S about this.
I also never advised to have counselling on both pregnancy
I would like to say that I will not be going to the RGH for my next pregnancy as this has happened twice to me and I will be going to Neville Hall.
