"A&E and Eye Clinic."

About: Queen's Hospital (Romford)

Anything else?

On Bank Holiday Monday (am) I went to a Polyclinic as I had a rash above my right eye and into my hair. They told me to go to A&E as they could not deal with it. After a fairly short wait I was referred to the Minor Section of A&E. The Doctor who saw me was excellent and compassionate. He diagnosed I had shingles, explained how it work and gave me medication. He also said I should go to the Eye Clinic.

Next Day I went to the Eye Clinic. The Young Lady Doctor I saw did a very thorough examination of my eyes and then spent further time on my right eye in the affected area. Again she was excellent and very helpful.

My thanks go to Queen's Hospital.

I’m sorry to hear about your shingles but very pleased to hear that we were able to help and that you found our staff helpful and compassionate. The polyclinic or out of hours GP service can usually help with concerns about a rash, but it sounds like with your eye affected, it was the right decision to come to us for an examination and treatment. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. Yours sincerely Flo Panel-Coates Director of Nursing
