I had my baby last week in the George Eliot maternity unit. I was attended by a 3rd year student midwife Sharon Hurst and a midwife called Tracey Rainsford. Sharon was brilliant and looked after my husband and me so well.
She was the one who delivered my baby and was so good I did not tear or need any stitches even though it was my first baby and a big one at that!
My husband was included all the way through and Sharon talked me through the whole birthing process and helped me cope with the pain with only gas and air and never left us alone the whole time.
She made us tea and toast after my birth and made sure I had a lovely relaxing bath afterwards. She will be a fantastic midwife when she qualifies and I hope if I ever have another baby she will be there to deliver it.
The whole experience was a good one thanks to my 2 fab midwives. I would recommend the George Eliot to anyone having a baby because they dont just look after the mum and baby but also the husband too.
