"poor care"

About: Wythenshawe Hospital

Anything else?

I have attended Outpatients for the last 4 years. I had surgery for a rectal prolapse. I have never seen the Consultant in Outpatients only in the pre op theatre. I have had problems ever since. I am unable to have sex, have tried dilators- no success incidently at this time the dr i saw told me to use them like my vibrator! what! I didn't ever use a vibrator! I developed lichen sclerosis, then developed a cystocele. Today I was seen by a male doctor, I had previously made it very clear that i never wanted to be seen by a male dr again! He told me i was being discharged. I told him that every appointment i have had i have told them about my problems with sex. He said i was only attending regarding the cystoclye that i had said was fine since physio. I told him that since my surgery years ago i have not been able to have sex, but to discharge me as the clinic was not helping me. My husband has heart problems and we have found this to be so distressing that we have given up so he may as well discharge me. Whereupon he said that if wanted to resume our sex life we could attend the gp be refered again the Consultant would gladly help. What! I have never seen them! I have had no continuity of care at all! I tell my story over and over. apart from physio I feel I have never really had any satisfaction. I will never go back. gynae surgery has significantly wrecked my sex life and nobody really cares.

Thankyou for the opportunity to share this somewhere.
