"Wonderful Maternity Service"

About: St Peter's Hospital (Chertsey)

Anything else?

Our Son was transferred to St Peters Chertsey from the Royal Surrey after it was discovered that he had a hole in each of his lungs shortly after birth. He was placed on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and as you can imagine it was a very worrying time as new parents.

The staff were amazing...so understanding and considerate. We were fully informed on our boys progress at all times. On each shift change we were introduced to the new nurse or sister and told what action would be taken during the day...so very reassuring. In particular Mandy on NICU and Louise from SCU were outstanding, going beyond the level of service that we expected by giving advice, assistance and reassurance.

For the first 2 nights we were given accommodation which was attached to the ward, so could spend a lot of time with our son. The facilities were first class, with a comfortable double room, a parents room where we could have a cup of tea, a shower, watch TV or just have a few minutes away from all the beeps and alarms in the NICU ward.

Thankfully our boy recovered very quickly from his condition and was moved to the High Dependancy Unit and then Special Care Unit. We spent four stressful days in total at St Peters and it was made so much easier by the caring and considerate staff.

If a time comes when anyone needs their services, be rest assured you are in very safe hands.

The staff were truly

We're so glad to hear that your son has made a good recovery and thank you so much for taking the time to give us this very positive feedback. We will pass it on to the teams in NICU.
