"Is This The Care I Should Expect ? (Volume2)"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - City Campus

Anything else?

Further to my post dated 30th April 2013.

I have now received a letter dated 19th April 2013 from the Consultant Thoracic Surgeon. I received this letter on Tuesday 7th May! Once again another letter from City Hospital that appears to come via Mars (the date the letter was written compared to the date the letter is received)!

The Letter refers to the same CT scan referred to in my last post ........ this scan was on 21st March 2013 When, many weeks later my GP receives information from City Hospital that there is a problem with my right lung (Pneumonia). The letter I have received on the 7th May (Typed on 19 April) is from a different Doctor ....... This Doctor makes no reference to the right lung problem on the CT scan but, informs me that he notices a problem with my LEFT lung! There is a visible new nodule showing! It is advised that I attend for another CT scan in two months! This could take us into early July ........ Thus, a problem with a Nodule on my lung as a result of a CT scan on 21st March is followed up more or less three and a half months later! Lets just hope that the Nodule is not serious! The main reason though for this posting is to 'Once Again' highlight the inefficiencies of the admin systems in this hospital ................... After a letter is typed does someone hide it in a drawer for a few weeks prior to posting it?

There clearly seems to be a problem here which I would like to personally look into. Further to my previous response, if you would consider getting in touch with me directly, I will look into this as a matter of urgency to understand what has happened. My details are: 0115 924 9924 ext 63443 or email Stephen.Ryder@nuh.nhs.uk
