I found out my uncle had been moved from Basingstoke hospital to Southampton yesterday (4th May 2013) after having bad pains for the last month then falling over 2 weeks ago. All I knew was that he was in c4 ward. After doing the checks with my uncle( that he gave his permission for her to tell me everything) the nurse was very helpful in explaining that my uncle had been diagnosed with cancer yesterday on his spine and that he had started a high dosage of radiotherapy yesterday and would continue until Wed> I asked when I could ring for an update as I live in Cornwall and wanted to know what hospital he would be in to visit Friday she said to ring Tuesday when she would be on duty to save going through the checks again which I thought was kind of her she answered all my questions fully and explained when I asked if my uncle would be able to ring me that he was immobile so no .she was very helpful and I felt reassured that he was in good hands.
