"breast implants"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

Anything else?

I had implants done on the nhs in 2010 as im as size 14 and naturally flat chested (not even a aa) they told me that they would be replaced if there were any problems or when they came to their end of life (10 years) ive had no problems until recently where when I lay down my boobs go flat and have a large crease where I presume the implant has folded and it looks absolutely awful, ive been back to the hospital and they said all they are prepared to do is remove them but wont get rid of the excess skin they will leave (seen as im only 23 I dont want 2 large saggy bits of skin) I dont know what to do as I thought the nhs had a duty of care but obviously they dont "care" its ruining my life as ive never been confident with my body anyway, I cant afford to go private, what can I do???

I'm very sorry to hear about your situation and if you are able to provide your contact details to my email address dale.travis@uhl-tr.nhs.uk I will ensure that a Consultant Plastic Surgeon reviews your medical notes and clinical history.

Once we are able to establish whether there is a clinical requirement to replace the implants or not, we can then ensure you get the correct information and advice to help you with a solution.

Kind regards
