"after my waters broke a few days ..."

About: East Surrey Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

after my waters broke a few days before, I went in to have my first baby and as i didnt dilate at all after 2 days of being induced i ended up having a c-section.

I can't compliment enough the staff on Burstow the Postnatal ward - contrary to some of the comments here i never experienced my buzzer not being answered or them not being amazingly helfpul and kind - including showing me how to wash, bath and change my baby. And the team that did thec-section were amazing. I was pretty scared at the time and they really really put me at ease and explained everything in exactly the right way for me. Best of all were the midwives with notable stars, one of whom was the one that did the last shift and c-section with me and kept me pretty calm.

I'd heard about hospitals not including husbands much too but that wasnt the case either, they spoke equally to both of us.

What could be improved

It turned out that one of the reasons i wasnt dilating was because my baby was breach. This was only discovered when he was delivered. Despite several internal and external exams. If i had been sent for a scan it would have been spotted a lot earlier and could have avoided some time!
