Anything else?
After a lot of admin kerfuffle with my previous consultant I have now been referred to Moorfields VR service.. but considering my previous consultant sent this referral as urgent I am now being seen in July (referral originally sent in April) but my comments are regarding my visit to A and E today..
I went into the A and E after my optician was concerned about my sight - he suggested to come down within 24hours.. the admin staff and nursing staff today were excellent and considering all the tertiary factors in my case.
However when I saw the doctor she seemed very rushed and ordered me into the consulting room where I was to brief her of my concerns - she dismissed my tertiary concerns and made me feel very small and like she wanted to get rid of me because of the 4hr Waiting times.
She told me to basically relax while waiting for a serious operation that is now due in 10-12 weeks.. considering my previous consultant wanted it down urgently.. she brushed me off with the fact that the eye disorder has been occuring for years - when it has only developed over 36 months.. I think this member of staff needs interpersonal training and visual impairment training as she was not accomodating my needs.. no wonder I am losing faith in the NHS.
