About: Birmingham Dental Hospital

Anything else?

I attended the restorative department after being given a evening appointment. This surprised me as I have never attended a NHS dentist at this time, I thought they would be all on the golf course! Anyway the time suited me down to the ground as it was after work and parking was easy to find. There wasn't anyone on reception , however a sign directed me where to wait. The waiting area was very busy, it was standing room only. I was a bit worried as I thought do they know I'm here? I was then seen and sent for an x ray, On returning as there was no one on reception I asked a cleaning member of staff If they could let the nurse know I was back. I was seen and my treatment was explained clearly. I am happy to come back here in the future.

Maybe the Hospital could introduce new arrival screens like at my GPs where you can enter your name and date of birth so staff know you have arrived?

Your very helpful feedback has been passed to the management team of Birmingham Dental Hospital to see how signage can be improved. Different approaches for how patients check-in on arrival are being considered as part of the planning for the new dental hospital for Birmingham (planned for 2015), including technology for self-check in.
