Anything else?
I am writing this review 18 months after the event. I had a bit of a tricky deliver in Aug 2011 and was very well looked after during delivery however I found the post natal care to be extremely lacking. I am a nurse myself and was upset but the lack of care by the nurses on the ward. The midwives weren't around very much and not easy to find if you wanted assistance. With hindsight I should have been offered much more thoughtful care, I was still drugged up post labour as was my daughter. I wasn't given any assistance in dealing with a new born, a new and scary experience for me. There was a distinct lack of communication and we were told we were going home but then ignored for 7 hours. The midwives kept saying they were short staffed, unprofessional to express these facts in my opinion and either way, this should not affect patient care. Now second time round I am trying a different hospital and hoping my care will be better elsewhere.
