What I liked
my son went to a+e on tues16th.he has complex needs and very disabled.he has had mrsa and quite rightly he was put in a single room.the hygiene was top class at all times. but however the care wasnt. i asked a nurse for some water and syringe to put in his peg tube. now sense says it must be sterile. she gave me a glass of water. i said sorry but it had to be sterile and needed a syringe.she was very rude, snatched it out my hand and said you never said in a very rude way.no need for that i think. Tony is very poorly and a bit of kindness is much appreiacted. i know the nurses are stretched on this very busy unit, but politeness goes a long way
What could be improved
remind staff that peole have feelings and may be feeling bad cos they are in a+e and scared.take time to explain to patients and carers what is wrong.if a patient has to be isolated take time to check on them, they already feel bad because they may be infectious. by the way my son got mrsa at this hosp, through no fault of his own. my son is very poorly but never again will i take him there, however praise for the ambulance crew who took us homewonderful peole
