I recently received outstanding care when I was admitted to PAH with a broken ankle which required surgery.

I was initially assessed and treated with very little waiting around by nurses and doctors from A&E and Orthopaedics whose professionalism and good humour filled me with confidence. The surgical team took great pains to ensure I knew what was going on and the anaesthetists were friendly and reassuring.

On Kingsmoor Ward everything ran smoothly and the nurses were well-informed about my treatment. All the staff I encountered were warm, considerate, helpful and never patronising. I was particularly impressed with to the care given to an elderly gentlemen in the bed opposite to me who was always treated with patience and compassion especially during the night.

All this, I assume, under great pressure of time and resources.

I returned yesterday to the fracture clinic and was seen within two minutes of my appointment time. Everyone was helpful and considerate and I left the building (sporting my new luminous yellow cast ) with all my expectations exceeded.
