"Rough handled by a rude A&E Nurse."

I was bitten twice by a big dog (mastiff) into my left lower arm. Leaving me with one deep and one medium puncture wound and great amount of pain, stress and tears.

After waiting for 2 hours which I was expecting to be more I was seen by a nurse. Who thougt it was really funny that I got bitten and wanted me to explain in depth how it happen to her amusement. She didn't like that I told that I actually don't think this is funny and if she ever was bitten by a dog. However I had an emergency dressing covering my wound which now had to come of. I ask whether I can do this myself. She annoyed agreed to it. The reason why I wanted to take it of myself was because the blood had dried onto the dressing it would be painful to be removed and since I already got an uneasy feeling from the nurse I rather did it myself, gently. However as I came to the last bit which was dried together I asked her for some of the sterile fluid which she had taken out already to clean the wound in order to soak the bandage off. She agreed but instead she just ripped the bandage off without asking me. Causing me a decent amount of pain. I told her "This was exactly what I was trying to avoid." She didn't care. As she then tried to clean the wounds it hurt and I pulled back my arm. I was then given a speech on "how it had to be cleaned." I know it had to be cleaned. But there are at least 2 ways you can do this. A gentle and a butcher. This nurse not asked me once whether I was pain or offered me painrelief. Not before, during or after the treatment. I got the impression that after I criticised her she wanted to take revenge on physically hurting me when she cleaned my wounds. She did it in a very rough way, going over and over already clean skin deliberately to hurt me. When I asked her not to put pressure with her fingers on the wound she had already cleaned just doing it to hold on to my arm. Again I was snapped back at that it had to be cleaned. She simply wasn't listening to me, wanted to argue with me, didn't care whether she was hurting me. She didn't treat me as a human being but just as a dead piece of meat with to holes in it. Not even to mention that I was still in a great amount of emonitial distress and really not mentally strong enough to argue with somebody who was suppose to help me and look after me. I am just extremely disappointed and scared and extremely glad that I didn't have a life threatening injury or disease. Which would put me in position where I would be 100% depend on a person like this. Oh, she also wanted to sent my sister away. Who knows what she would have done to me without any witnesses around. I insisted that my sister stayed. This is so scary. It didn't happend in a 3rd World country hospital. No. In St. Thomas in Central London. Poor NHS. Just sad.
