"111 and Whipps out of hours"

About: NHS Direct NHS Trust / NHS 111 Partnership of East London Co-operatives (PELC) Limited / Whipps Cross emergency and urgent care centre

(as a parent/guardian),

I called the 111 service when my young child was unwell and the call operator completed an assessment by asking questions and this took around 10 minutes. We were told that we could be referred to see an Out of Hours GP in Whipps Cross Hospital.

Within 2 hours from calling 111, my child was seen by a GP and given a course of antibiotics. A very good service.

Thank you for taking the time to provide this feedback, it is important to us to help us improve our services. I am sorry it has taken until now for me to respond; the kind people at Patient Opinion have only recently mapped feedback posted here on our NHS 111 services to our NHS Direct profile to allow me to do this.

It sounds like you had a good experience of calling 111 and the follow-up service and treatment you received at Whipps Cross.

Thanks again for letting us know about your experience and I hope your little one is now fully recovered. I will share this with our front-line staff who are always grateful to hear about how they have helped our patients by providing "A very good service".
