"Spinal Surgery March 2013"

I required urgent spinal operation. due to a bulging disc causing me agonising pain in my lower back which had become worse.

I went in to Thornberry Hospital, under the care of Neuro Surgeon, Mr Abhinay Kamat.

I was in a considerable amount of pain, and once in the hospital, I was given further pain relief to help settle and relax me. The staff were very kind and treated me with dignity and respect through out.

Mr Kamat explained to me what the surgical procedure would involve, and the risks of this type of surgery.

The next day, I was taken down for surgery, and the anaethetist and colleague made me feel relaxed to point where I would have liked to have chatted to them a little longer before nodding off to sweet slumber. And soon to be back in my lovely bedroom again. But this time totally pain free. Wonderful.

Mr Kamat checked on me the same afternoon, and the following day, prior to my discharge. He also wanted me to see the physiotherapists at Thornberry Hospital. And again I am so pleased because with regular sessions, they have helped me continue my recovery to better health and wellbeing.
