Recently I accompanied our daughter for her endoscopy.
We arrived early but it was not long before she was taken through for admission. The admitting nurse was truly lovely. She was gentle, kind and had a great sense of humour. Professor Clark was thorough and honest in her assessment of our daughter's condition and, although it was not the news we were looking for, we felt reassured that she is in good hands.
It was lovely for our daughter to see the same nurse who admitted her later when she was in recovery. I can’t remember her name but she was Scottish.
Overall an unpleasant experience was made bearable by kind, efficient staff.
One suggestion if I may. Our local hospital, which is much smaller than Northwick Park, has a dispensing Boots Chemist. This takes the pressure off the main hospital pharmacy and provides a speedy out patient service.
