The referral to a local private hospital carrying out my surgery was good with very helpful, accessible staff with a can do attitude to my questions. One big negative was using a home number. I specifically asked for it not to be used and getting answer machine messages for another patient who's details were left on my machine - immediately deleted.
I did not get a message re MRSA screening but staff treated me as if I was and all was well.
The nurses were wonderful, caring, kind and clearly knowledgeable. They were very professional - no gossiping etc - and made sure I was having regular obs. They took time to help me and others in our section and held my hand through the injections!
This was a day case situation but was a much better experience than my last one in the main acute hospital with similar numbers of patients.
