"Medical staff great, grubby and unkempt hospital..."

About: Southport & Formby District General Hospital

Anything else?

Visiting a family member recently the hospital and grounds fell well below previous experience. From the grubby and litter strewn entrance that smells like an old ashtray due to the patients smoking, to the impossible task of accessing the hand gel (blocked by discarded metal trolleys) the hospital has an air of being forgotten about.

The entrances to ward 10a and 10b are littered with trolleys, chairs and delivery cages full of empty cardboard boxes and if the need for evacuation arose, it would be chaos!

The wards are also very cluttered and untidy and feel like storage areas that happen to house patients.

The car park machines don't work and the surly staff on reception have no idea when they'll be fixed and it's "not their problem". Apologies for interrupting their chat.

A shame to see a once well managed and beautifully maintained hospital sliding into this state.
