Anything else?
I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the birthing centre and labour ward at oldham. The facilities were 5 stars. We started of in the birthing centre the midwife was amazing and supported me through the first part of my labour. Due to complications we had to transfer to the labour ward. The first hour of this was hard and th midwife treating us was rude and un compassionate. In a lot of pain it took her over an hour to administer pain relief believe me I was asking. After this at 7am their was a staff switch over our new midwife took over she was amazing and a credit to your team. She supported us through the last stage of labour and delivered our amazing baby girl. She was amazing and so supported and we feel so lucky to have had her as our midwife.
The only thing we did not like was the aftercare after birth. I was left for over 3 hours in blood stained sheets just wanting to get up and clean so I was able to take care of my baby. I needed the nurses to take the drip that was no longer needed to be removed to enable me to get up.
I asked for my baby to be weighed on a few occasions she finally was. However due to the lack of communication they tried to give her the vitamin k jab twice.
Overall I would highly recommend the hospital to give birth in but the after care has a lot to live up to.
