Anything else?
My husband, George Michael Bailey was admitted to your Acute Surgical Unit on Monday 8th April,2013 as an emergency.
He received quick and excellent treatment from the Consultant, his staff and also from all the nursing staff within the unit.
The nursing care he received was excellent and the kindness and understanding shown was also excellent.
He said that the hospital food was good.
He was very impressed with the cleanliness of the unit. Then one day when he had to change his hospital pyjamas because his wound was leaking He was told by staff to leave them in the bathroom and they would be taken away. They were not taken away and lay where he had put them for 3 days. This was very disappointing because the ward itself was very clean and the nursing staff cleaned the bed, the mattress, locker and table whenever a patient was moved out of the unit even though often the patient was only in the bed for a short time.
After 7 days in A.T.U. he was moved to Ward 33 were he remained for 3 days. He found this ward cleaned and cared for but not as thoroughly as the A.T.U. The nursing care in this ward was also very good.
I would like to thank all NHS staff for the excellent care they gave him.
"Excellent care."
