"I had my son at this hospital ..."

About: Princess Royal Hospital (Haywards Heath)

(as the patient),

What I liked

I had my son at this hospital and he was born premature at 34 weeks.Right from the start the staff were very helpful, understanding, accomodating and very professional. There was a midwife present with me right from the start and her help and support cannot be put in words.Afterwards when my son was in

special care, the staff in SCBU were very helpful and understanding. The amount of care given to my son in SCBU cannot be put in words All the people from consultants to the person who used to clean the place everyday were extremely dedicated towards their work. The wards were clean and the nurses were very prompt and helpful.I could not have asked for a better care team anywhere. The management wants to close this area of service but in my opinion they are closing not only a valuable service to this area but will be putting a lot of hardworking and dedicated professionals out of job. This is one of the fantastic teams in the country probably!

What could be improved

The only downside I probably found was that the canteen/food service closed quite early and as a patient staying or visiting my son ,sometimes late,a late supper would not have gone amiss. If the canteen or any other food outlet serving dinner can be opened till 9 or so, then it can be helpful both the patients and relatives.
