"Birth centre/birth suite"

About: Burnley General Hospital

Anything else?

Never in my life have I had the pleasure of meeting a group of such hard working, dedicated individuals. I have just arrived home after a difficult week getting my newborn son into the world. We have spent approx 45 hours there this week and dealt with several midwifes, all of which deserve a medal for their outstanding professionalism, I cannot believe in this day and age that they are all so happy all of the time, along with reassuring, knowledgable, enthusiastic and caring. I'm no fan of NHS management, in fact I think most of sucks, which should add value to this review. If the top dogs in other departments looked at why this one is so outstanding, maybe the whole service could reach this unquestionable platinum standard that is being set by the staff at the women and newborn centre. As for the building itself, why is the only section with vending machines locked up at night? Bit of a hassle if you fancy using them, the temperature control system definitely needs looking at, in the birth pool room (6) it nearly blows the blinds off the windows and blows hot and cold, no off button if you are happy with ambient either. Room 10 in the birthing centre doesn't have any other temperature other than 25 degrees, this made it quite uncomfortable.
