Early in 2012 I noticed a large lump in my neck. My GP sent me to NNUH. I was seen my Mr Peley (breast surgeon) who after numerous scans referred me to Mr Nassif - ENT surgeon - who performed a biopsy (Andrew South Day Procedure Unit), I was then referred to Dr R Phillips (Respiratory medicine) and alarmingly I was told it was a TB gland. I immediately commenced anti-biotic therapy for 6 months. Through this time I received tremendous support from Jo Hadley - TB Nurse specialist as well as Dr Phillips.
I was declared cured in June 2012. I am overwhelmingly thankful for the absolutely splendid treatment I received from start to finish and am eternally grateful to NNUH and the wonderful NHS.
