"Disappointments"

About: East Surrey Hospital

Anything else?

In june i saw a consultant, in july he offered Major back surgery, in September i went for a pre op check and my blood pressure was high so i went to the back of the waiting list, In November i was told i would be going in for the surgery in Febuary, in Febuary i was told i would not be getting surgery this month and i would be notified when i was to get the operation the appt came through for the 9th april , i went to admission on the 9th April and saw the consultant anaesthetist and the admitting nurse and was told i was firs ton the list and given a gown and bag and the sister came over to tell me that the operation had been cancelled. and advised me there were no beds available.

i was told to phone admissions for another date and i phoned when i got home and was told they did not know when the date would be, the hospital phoned two days later and said would i be prepared to go to north downs hospital instead i said yes, i have waited and nothing has happened and i phoned admissions at east surrey a week later and was told it had been sent to North Downs and they would decided if they would accept me.i asked what happens if they don't accept me and i was told they should let me know. its been two weeks since the operation was cancelled and i feel frustrated and annoyed because people have taken time off work to look after me and animals have been booked into kennels.

Admissions told me that if an operation had been cancelled it should be rescheduled within 28 days but if they couldn't do it, they couldn't do it.!
