"Forgotten"

About: John Radcliffe Hospital

Anything else?

Got to A+E with my partner who is diabetic after he had suffered a severe headache and had passed out.. The staff in A and Ewere great he was seen straight away seen by triage and drs in a timely fashion and was moved to the major side they said because of his injury the said. Then he was promptly forgotten after having bloods taken and a ct scan he sat there for 3 hours before being moved to EAU. He again was just left for hours on end and being seeing by dr after dr who then never came back and he had to begin the process over and over. Finally a dr came and said she was taking more blood in prep for his procedure ...we were like 'what procedure' she was oh you are to have an L P have you not been told? 2 hours later he gets sorry you are next sorry and then they decide to move him upstairs to 6c which is a female only ward! Sorry wrong ward - then they take him to 6b in a bay which smelt worse than a blocked drain only to be told the procedure would not take place after all...by now it was 11pm. He had to even send out for his mess as they could not provide it...nor a decent meal for an insulin dependant person...so he discharged himself and we went home. To top off a horrid day at the hospital we had to pay £7.50 to leave!

We had a missed call from a private number today assuming it was the hospital calling but as they failed to leave a message apparently they do not because of data protection after having spent 14 mins on extension roundabout to 6b I caled EAU to be spoken to by a very rude and unhelpful person so called 6b again to be told that they have to track down the drs dealing who called!!!! This is what we pay for?
