I was scheduled for a lateral release surgery twice both were cancelled after leaving me waiting for 5 hours and booking time off work etc. Played the whole game with me doing my obs getting me in a gown etc acting like i was having the op just to tell me 5 hours later they hospital and ward had lost all of my notes, meaning they couldn't do it. This is ridiculous, how they can loose a whole file and have no idea where it is, is totally and utterly unprofessional and makes a mockery of the NHS.

Thank you for providing feedback about the care and treatment we provide. Procedures can be postponed for a range of reasons and we appreciate how upsetting this can be for patients who have made arrangements to come in to hospital and whose home life and work have been disrupted. We are sorry for any inconvience or concern this has caused.

We deal with thousands of patients' files every day and are in the process of introducing a new electronic patient record system to make sure notes are available instantly when they are needed, to prevent patients having this experience in the future.
