About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

I liked leaving..

The wonderful (I think voluntary?) staff who guide you round the hospital were the highlight, so helpful.

What could be improved

Respect for patients, privacy - in the scanning area the curtains do not pull across properly when you are trying to change, there is no separation of men and women. The gowns are the awful design that flap open at the back. Having to walk past men making inappropriate comments in this gown to get to the scanning room was extremely humiliating and embarassing. The changing area was also dirty. A&E also shows little respect for privacy, and staff throughout need to learn to ask for consent before touching you or moving items of your clothing, it is unacceptable to just grab at people, no matter whether you are in a hurry, and you should make sure curtains are pulled across cubicles properly.
