My 83 year old mother broke her hip after a fall & was despatched via ambulance to
A & E at the Queens Hospital Burton-On-Trent.
Upon arrival the A & E dept were extremely busy, with standing room only in the waiting area. Regardless of this she was seen, assesed, X-rayed, and in a bed on ward 20 within less than 4 hours, and all the time we were informed exactly what was happening at every step.
She was operated on the very next morning ( 09 :30 Sunday) The preperation for , & the operation was superb. My mother was extremely impressed with thier effiecency.
Whilst in hospital she was moved to ward 19, one floor below, where the nursing staff said she would rest better away from certain unavoidable noisey elements. This proved to be the case and the staff in both wards ,from H.C.A.'s to senior members were all helpfuff, cheerful & attentive.( my mothers words). Following on from this she was seen by members of the Physio dept. these staff also were exceptional in thier attention to detail and advice.
My mother was a little apprehensive upon arrival at the hospital but after this expericience she has confidence in the staff should she arrive here again. My mother and I would like to say a big thankyou to all members of staff who were involved in her stay at the hospital, they were a well knit team with smooth transitions throughout every stage of her stay in hospital, a thouroughly professional team. Once again Thankyou
"A thouroughly professional team"
