"Initiating contact to get appointment then being informed wrongly "

Expected a call from TRAQS to arrange an appointment for my daughter within 5 days of her appointment with the doctor. After 20 days of waiting I rang to arrange the appointment.
How long would this have taken if I had not initiated this?
The referal given to my daughter was different to how it was explained by the doctor. She stated that she would see a community paediatrician (who she is already a patient with). Our appointment stated that she is to attend general surgery at the Hospital, this was not explained by the doctor. The TRAQS operator had to explain this to me which has added to our anxiety.
