From the moment I was admitted to the Ward E2, then onto E1 and now E3. The staff were absolutely brilliant and often more than happy to go the extra yard to be helpful. Not only to myself as a patient but to my family and visitors I had while I was in hospital. I was kept up to date with my progress and development and felt very well supported.
I was in ward for over 6 weeks in so got a pretty good insight into the pressures and demands the the staff are under. As an Investigative documentary Filmmaker I saw it as an opportunity to to have a close up and personal look at a hospital from a patients point of view.
My frank conclusion is that, although I cannot speak for all NHS run Hospitals, when it comes to the Royal Hallamshire in Sheffield, its service and delivery is excellent and the staff deserve more support, higher recognition, recourses and pay so they can fulfil the duties of there vocation to maximum ability for the sake of the nation.
