Anything else?
I would like to give some positive feedback about my recent experience at Queens Hospital, Romford.
I have atrial fibrillation and I attended the cardiac unit on 21st March for a cardioversion. The week before I attended for a pre-procedure appointment for an explanation of the procedure.
The person I particular want to mention is the cardiac nurse.
I found that his explanation about the procedure was very thorough and I was impressed with the time he spent with me reassuring me and explaining the potential risks.
On the day of the procedure he repeated the explanation so that I was fully informed, then dealt with consent.
I also found the facilities very clean and other staff also treated me with respect and courtesy. After the procedure, the cardiac nurse again spent time with me and gave me some post-procedure advice. He also provided a contact number in case I needed to discus anything with him.
The NHS are under particular scrutiny at this time and perhaps it is justified in the light of some poor care but that has not been my experience.
I am grateful to the cardiac nurse for the way he treated and reassured me and mentioned it to him personally. Perhaps this email can be placed on his personnel file and be brought to the attention of those who supervise him.
Please would you acknowledge receipt of this email by reply.
Regards,
Andy Watson
