"If I showed up 2 hours late would I be seen?"

With a 2:30 pm appointment, already postponed unilaterally by the hospital by several months, I showed up early, my records were available so I was expected and I was quickly given a sight test and a pressure test the doctor later told my was of no use ... then I waited for two hours to be seen by a doctor. Chaos seemed to reign. Although when the doctor did finally see me, I was reassured that my tests were all OK, but I felt rushed and did not get an answer to one of my questions.
I was not the only one waiting for ages. Would I have been seen if I were the one who was two hours late?
So clearly there are too many patients and not enough doctors. And now, even this will be swept away if plans go ahead to demolish the hospital. Where will all the patients go? Where will I go?
I have a history of glaucoma in my family. Getting my eyes tested annually so that treatment can be timely if ever needed concurs with all of the advice in NHS and RNIB ads and should save the NHS money (timely as opposed to reactive treatment). Something is not right and we are being kept in the dark.
