Anything else?
I recently had to go to Southend Hospital with suspected appendix. I had to wait ages at reception whilst the staff chatted away - completely ignoring me. Finally got a bed. Initial service, treatment, care etc was good. Had to stay in overnight. During the night the staff were rude, unhelpful and loud. I was nil by mouth. It wasn't until 13.20 the next day that I spoke to a member of staff as I called a nurse to my bed otherwise god knows how long I would have been sat there? I was left unsure what was happening. Didn't know if I was still having tests or not. Just chaos. I ended up discharging myself when i realised that although i was in pain, it was serious enough to stay a minute longer! Never knew what was wrong with me? I must say, however, that we have also had both of my children at this hospital and a totally different experience. Clean, helpful, efficient, caring, considerate, attentive. Huge thumbs up to them on the maternity side of things. Thumbs down on the general side of things. Makes my review a middle road opinion.
