"Very promt in arriving to help my wife"

About: Harmoni / NHS 111 London Ambulance Service NHS Trust St George's Hospital (Tooting) (London)

(as a carer),

I called 111 as my wife was very ill. I explained her problems and somebody came out to see her within ten minutes. My wife was scared to come down and move so the doctor went upstairs to see her.

The doctor conducted an ECG on my wife, examined her and cleared her, he did however tell my wife to stay where she was.

Although my wife had been cleared she started to deteriorate further, she then fell climbing out of bed and was laid on the bedroom floor for around an hour at which point I had already called for an ambulance.

It turned out that my wife had a severe viral water infection that was affecting her brain and making her go funny. She has been in hospital for 2 and half weeks now and is still undergoing treatment.

I would just like to say how fantastic the 111 service was. Their response time was fantastic, and very helpful when they arrived. In addition to this the doctor would have had no idea this was the issue with my wife as a urine test would have need to be conducted which wasn't. The doctor which came was so great and very helpful.

The ambulance staff were also fantastic, not quite as quick as the 111 service in arriving but great nonetheless and I'm grateful my wife received such great care.
