Anything else?
I was told that I would need another op on my shoulder, and that I would be put on the waiting list. As my daughter is getting married in June, I was hoping that the op would be sooner, rather than later. I asked for my name to be put on the Cancellation list, as I can come in at very short notice. I got a phonecall on Monday the 25th, saying that they had a Cancellation on April 3rd, and could I arrive at 12.30.
I arrived at 11.45, and was seen by the nurse, the Anaesthetist, and my Consultant. I went down to surgery at 1.30, and was back on the ward at 5pm. I was kept in overnight, and there were only 2 Nurses on shift, as a few of the nurses had called in sick. They had 19 patients to look after. All night, there were buzzers going, and the poor Nurses were rushing here and there, I felt bad buzzing for the Commode, but when the Nurse came to my bed, and Bless her, she had a huge smile on her face! Both Nurses were lovely, and tho rushed off their feet, never once moaned when a buzzer went off.
The food? Well, I ordered Homemade Leek and Potato Soup, and then Rhubarb crumble for dessert. The soup was very dark green and looked like Castrol GTX, so I replaced the lid and moved onto the Dessert. It looked lovely, but when I tasted it, it was very bitter. Obviously they don`t add sugar to the Rhubarb! So I went hungry.
This is a wonderful Hospital, but its a shame that the food lets you down.
"Brilliant Hospital....shame about the food!"
