Anything else?
was taken to hospital for back surgery, it was indicated that I would be in hospital for more than the alleged time because of other reasons not just for my back. The consultant saw me every day for 5 days, every day I asked to see social services and was told 'they will come tomorrow'. The consultant came on the 5th day with a senior sister, talking to each over not talking to me until i asked a question, there was no indication of me going home. I am under a foot specialist who came to the ward together with the back specialist and implied that i would be in hospital up to 10 days, they didn't talk about me going home yet, about an hour later the physiotherapist came, gave me a frame and told me to walk out of the room, I took 5 steps and started to collapse, they ran to get a chair to put under me to stop me falling and said to me 'oh you can go home you can walk', I had no care package in place, i live alone and was scared. They then insisted I go home and they needed the bed, I was promised over the holidays that everything would be run as normal, it Obviously wasn't. Of course I wanted to go home but there was no one to look after me and after asking several times for social services to come and being told its holiday and they would come tomorrow i had to organise, I did not see a physiotherapist until the 5th day to help me walk, I could only walk with aid with both a frame and a nurse to the toilet which was inside the room. The room was situated=ted next to a room that had a machine that washes the bed pan, there was noise every 15 minutes night and day. The room was filthy with taped up blinds on the windows and holes and cracks in the walls. The nurse left me sitting on the toilet for more than 15 minutes each time and I had to pull myself off the toilet to the seat next to it inside the shower. I thought I was going to faint several times being left there, several times I left your hand on the bell pull and got told off by the nurse because the bell just kept ringing, this mainly happened at night.
