"HIV Exposure"

I received exceptional care from the GUM clinic in Coventry after being exposed to HIV. It is difficult for me to put into words how sincerely grateful I am for all the help, support and guidance I received for 6 weeks. The knowledge and professionalism is second to none and I honestly do not think I would have been able to cope or even be here today without the doctor who looked after me. I was looked after through the darkest time of my life and the care I received was indescribable. From the moment I met the doctor she took me under her wing with her professional, direct approach that instantly made me feel confident in her knowledge and experience. She put me at ease and made me feel safe to put my life into her hands. I was advised and guided through the PEP medication and the doctor carefully choose the most suitable combination with the least side effects.

I was given undivided attention throughout my visits. All of my questions were always answered with facts and backed with supporting evidence to reassure me, this has been my lifeline for all these weeks. The dedication and commitment to her job is truly inspiring. People like this doctor are very few and far between and I feel privileged to have been in her care. No one will ever understand how it feels to be exposed to HIV and what patients go through unless they have been in the same situation. This ordeal has changed my life and I will be forever in debt to the doctor for the support and care she gave me at the clinic in Coventry.
