"Bolron Breast Unit"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital

Anything else?

I was referred to the Breast Unit after discovering a lump in my breast for the first time and naturally I was very anxious about the appointment.

My appointment was yesterday and I would like to say how impressed I was with the care and service that they gave me.

I was seen on time and greeted by a lovely nurse who was friendly and reassuring. She took me into the one of the treatment rooms and me feel so at ease. I then saw a junior doctor who examined me. She went though what would happen that day and gave me an estimated time of how long I would be there. Then the consultant came in and told me that they would do everything they could to get to the bottom of what was going on in my breast before the end of the appointment.

I was sent for an ultrasound scan and the nurse in there reassured me as soon as she could that she didn't think that there was anything to be too concerned about. Even so, I saw the consultant again afterwards and she has even made me an appointment for 6 weeks time to make sure everything is OK and to completely put my mind at ease.

I felt relaxed and cared for from the minute I walked in. The staff were so wonderful and friendly and a complete credit to Bolton Hospital.

Thank you.
