"Recent hospital stay on Emergency admissions unit at hope"

About: Salford Royal / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I was admitted with sciatica pain that was agonising.

I was placed on Emergency Admissions unit late on wednesday. Early Thursday morning a lovely lady doctor from the A+E department came to examine me and prescribed me some strong painkillers. By 1:30pm I was having an MRI scan and by 4pm the spinal specialists confirmed I had a prolapsed disc that was causing my sciatica.

A lovely nurse name Susan Carney was so understanding as she had been through the same experience. I felt that she went that extra mile to reassure me and kept me fully informed of the whole process. Everybody who I came into contact with during my stay there made it so much easier to deal with. Everybody was friendly, calm and very helpful.
