"Length of waiting time to be seen"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham / Ophthalmology

(as a relative),

I took my father who is in his mid 80s for 4pm appointment at the eye clinic at QEH in early April.

We were finally seen at 5.20pm which is inexcusable expecting a man of his age to sit for that long. The nurses in the clinic were not very busy at that time of day but during the whole 100 minute wait not one member of staff thought it might be a good idea or courteous to explain that either the clinic was running late or there had been an emergency which meant they were a doctor short. I really do feel that if they had bothered it would have made the whole situation better.
