"Minor injuries"

About: Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital

Anything else?

The receptionist was very rude despite us having an unwell 4 week old baby. We are not from this area and were visiting relatives, this minor injury could have turned into something major had we left it till returning home. She was rude and unhelpful. The doctor we saw however was helpful and professional.

I’m sorry to hear that our reception staff were rude and unhelpful when you recently attended with your 4 week old baby. I appreciate that you were anxious to get your child seen, and it was probably very frustrating to be told that the MIU is unable to treat babies under one year’s old. I have forwarded the comments to the person who manages the reception staff. She was concerned to hear about what happened and will talk to her staff about your comments. If you want to discuss your concerns about what happened please contact the trust’s Customer Care Team on 0300 123 1807 or email kcht.cct@nhs.net

Once again I apologise for any distress caused to you.

Best wishes

Karen Edmunds, Head of Public and Patient Engagement
