"My mother in law aged 84 was admitted ..."

About: Dorset County Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

My mother in law aged 84 was admitted with what she thought was a minor problem that quickly transpired to be terminal, she went down hill rapidly and died within just 10 days of being admitted. Throughout this brief period, all the staff gave us as much information as they could (to my mother in law as well as ourselves), maintaining her dignity and treating her with respect. The room provided for her in the last 3 days was spacious and quiet, allowing all the family to say goodbye in a supportive environment. All the staff were considerate to the families needs even to supplying a bed for my husband to be with her throughout her last night. Many thanks to everyone.
