"Minor Injuries Unit"

About: Newark Hospital

Anything else?

Having just read the previous reviews I would like to relate my experience.

On New Year's Day I had a sudden onset of double vision. After using the NHS symptom checker it said to go to A&E. We rang the MIU and were told to go there.

Within 5 minutes of arrival I was attached to the ECG machine, lots of other tests were done including a CT scan.

I realised then they were checking for symptoms of stroke. I was sent home much reassured, with temporary medication in place and a referral to the appropriate clinic.

The male nurse on duty was fantastic along with the other staff. He made sure I understood what the doctor was telling me as the doctor, although a lovely chap, was not too clear with spoken English.

I was very pleased that this unit is in our local hospital.
