"Great Experience!"

About: University College Hospital

Anything else?

Long story short, I got one of my fingers trapped against a door and my nail got injured. It didn't bother at first but became very swollen next day so I decided to go to a local clinic and have it look at. The doctor there told me it was better for me to go to the to the A&E unit over at the UC Hospital. I was doubtful at first since I thought I was going to spend the rest of my day waiting to see a doctor just for a smashed finger. I finally decided to go and my experience was great. After a quick registration at the A&E unit I was transferred to the UTC (Urgency Treatment Centre). The doctor who treated me was extremely kind and opted to have x-rays done to discard a broken finger. By the way the X-ray equipment was truly state of the art technology. Since I had no broken bones he drained the blood from the subungual hematoma that was formed to relieve the pressure. He was very concern about doing it the right way to avoid any unnecessary pain from puncturing the nail too hard. I probably spent at most an hour and I feel so much better now. I never expected the level of care and attention I received.

We are delighted to hear of the positive experience you had when attending A&E.Your compliments have been passed on to the general manager for A&E who will ensure they are passed on to the relevant clinic teams.
